As a child, Patricia Saunders was always drawing, painting and making paper-dolls. Her passion to create never dwindled and later earned a BA in Art and Performance which led to a full tuition scholarship for her MA and MFA. Her interest in children’s books developed as an art teacher creating art lessons to go with the story. That led to writing her own. She says, “Reading to the children is the best critique anyone can get.”
Patricia has enjoyed traveling and living in many states and countries as a military dependent. She found experiencing the different cultures gave her an understanding of people and how we differ but ultimately everyone wants to be happy.
Today her past experiences have given her insight into writing non-fiction and fiction picture books. Nestled next to a big tree, Patricia has a little nook upstairs in her home where she writes and paints.
Born in Alaska she now resides in Texas with her husband and two kitties. She has two grown sons, one daughter-in-law and one very precious granddaughter.
